YOUR SAFETY
MATTERS!
Sheriff Willie L. Rowe is a 30-year veteran of the Wake County Sheriff’s Office. He started his tenure as a deputy in 1985 after serving our country in the United States Army as a sergeant. He may have retired from the Sheriff’s Office in 2013 as a Major, but he did not stop serving Wake County.

PRIORITIES

REDUCE CRIME AND ENHANCE PUBLIC SAFETY BY
-
Increasing officer presence and engagement in communities to prevent crime and foster positive relationships with the residents.
-
Serving as mentors in elementary schools and coaches in community youth organizations.
-
Establishing a Sheriff's Advisory Council to review the Sheriff's Office performance and provide input to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, equity, diversity and inclusiveness.

RESTORE PUBLIC TRUST IN THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE AND ESTABLISH OPEN AND HONEST COMMUNICATION WITH THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE.
As Sheriff, I will work to restore public confidence and provide equal protection for all. The Sheriff’s Office cannot be fully effective if it does not have the trust of the very residents we are called to serve.
I will use my experience to build relationships and establish open lines of communication with staff. I will recruit, properly vet, train, and equip the most qualified individuals to serve and protect the residents and properties of Wake County. By being transparent and available to staff, I will set the example of what’s expected of personnel when engaging with members of the public. It will be critical that the office fill current vacancies and maintain sufficient staffing to safely perform the duties of the office.
